We had no idea how to clean Venetian Blinds. we had never had the need to know before. We had only ever had curtains but now we had moved into our new house, we had a fair few that we had to clean. What made it worse is that we couldn’t have contacted the previous owners of the house to ask how they cleaned them because it became fairly obvious that they simply didn’t. I could see why after trying to hoover and dust and wipe and getting no-where. It was a very laborious task made worse by the fact that it clearly hadn’t ever been done before. The dust was so thick that the hoover didn’t manage to suck it up very well so the only choice we had was to scrub each blade individually to get them clean. It took about 2 hours on the first blind. There were 6 more to go.

Since we were moving to Arizona from New York, we really didn’t want to bring everything with us – especially since it wasn’t going to be a long term living arrangement. The best part about it was that the storage unit was climate controlled and regularly monitored with security cameras. Knowing that our things would be secure while we were gone was one of the most important aspects of choosing the right storage facility. After all, we weren’t going to be around to monitor things on our own – and we didn’t have any family or friends that could do it for us, either.
Now that we’re back home in New York City, we still use the same storage facility for extra household things that are just taking up too much room. For instance, we have several sofa and recliner sets that really don’t need to be in our living room all year long! Additionally, we really don’t need all the odds and ends that we’ve accumulated through our travels over the years to clutter up our house, either. Since we don’t want to get rid of them, having an affordable storage unit available is wonderful – especially since I can pull them out whenever I want to.
