Growth in Respiratory Therapist Schools

Friday, February 17th, 2012

Respiratory therapists or respiratory care practitioners are expected to have a 21% growth in job opportunities according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics. This growth in job opportunities mean more respiratory therapist schools in California. A respiratory therapist is in charge of treatment plans that is supposed to make the patient breathe better. They are responsible for patients both young and old, working with a sense of autonomy within the facility where he or she is employed. In a neonatal ward for example, a respiratory therapist starts off the day by going on rounds, checking the proper functioning of ventilator machines used by infants. After rounds and other responsibilities, the respiratory therapist informs other members of the health care team about his or her recommendations regarding the patient’s treatment plans. The respiratory therapist is an important part of the health care team because they are able to take on harder tasks and plans otherwise entrusted to a pulmonologist or physician.

Applying for a Loan for Gunsmith School Admission

Wednesday, February 15th, 2012

Winson Lee Hoffmann Obituary - Tigerton, Wisconsin - Tributes.comAccording to the recent statistics released by the Pennsylvania Gunsmithing School, only approximately 1/5th of gunsmith school students have taken out loans to fund their schooling. This may be due to several factors.

Firstly, gunsmith courses are still fairly new and the low number of student loans applied and approved may just be an indication of how student numbers for this type of course is still fairly low as well.

Secondly, it’s possible that the enrollment or tuition fees expected for this course are relatively affordable – enough for most students to be able to pay off their school expenses on time and without having to take out a loan.

In any case, having little competition for school loans should be good news for those who wish to apply for financial assistance from the school. As there are fewer of you applying for a loan, there is a greater chance that your loan would be approved without much fuss.

Pleasure for Epicurus was “the beginning and end of the blessed life… I do not know how I can conceive the good, if I withdraw the pleasures of taste and withdraw the pleasures of love and those of hearing and sight. (Russel, 243).” Thus we see here that it was not a scorn for pleasure, or a desire for simplicity for its own sake that led Epicurus to chose a simple and austere lifestyle, but rather “self sufficiency is a great good, not in order that we might make do with few things under all circumstances, but so that if we do not have a lot we can make do with a few, being genuinely convinced that those who least need extravagance enjoy it most. (HP 30).” The pinnacle of the Epicurean lifestyle is not pleasure but rather the absence of pain or fear. A life of contemplation, prudence, and moderation in which we fear neither death nor the gods, and in which we neither want for food, nor crave that which we cannot have, would be an ideal life. Thus the modern adjective epicurean misunderstands the emphasis of Epicureanism which is on the balanced life, not on the pleasurable one as such.

How compelling is the Epicurean view of morality and the good life as contained a simple unneedful life of contemplation and prudence without pain or fear? The idea of the ideal life being one that is devoid of pain, but not necessarily one with pleasure is hard to accept in our modern hard driven, devil-may-care society. We sing the praises of the risk taker bears great burdens and throws all to the wind for a chance at untold riches – as long as this risk taker succeeds.

With social security, welfare, and a healthy economy many, though certainly not all, of the people living in the US today, for example, can reasonably expect to live their life without much fear of going hungry, thirsty, or cold. Ought they to count themselves as having fulfilled a major part of living a good life?

We moderns, though, have much higher expectations. Even back in ancient Greece there was dissent on this point. Plato claimed that one must aspire to something beyond avoidance of pain. Plato would not “judge every good by the criteria of feeling” but rather Plato would emphasis the virtue of fulfilling ones function – specifically ones intellectual capability. Perhaps there is a positive, affirmative aspect to life and aspirations that Epicurus fails to recognize, and perhaps out priorities are hopelessly out of whack. There is the danger, the original true Epicurean says, of seeing “enough [as] little” and therefor “nothing [as] enough.”

We had several drinks over the course of our dinner and I felt more than fine driving. I was on my way home when a car ran a red light and struck my car. The officer on seen said he smelled alcohol and made me take a breathalyzer. Because there was alcohol in my system, he said he was charging me with a DUI. I contacted an Atlanta DUI attorney immediately. He explained to me despite the fact I was below the legal limit, they had the right to charge me. He felt I could easily fight the charge and took on my case. He was successful in getting the charges dropped. I was thankful as I could not afford the fines and was afraid of receiving any jail time.

Wakening the Adventure Spirit!

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

Yesterday I received a letter. I am not sure what to think of it: it arrived in a red envelope, the letter itself was written on scarlet paper with white ink. White ink!

Whatever, it was the answer to my application for a unique scholarship to study at an University abroad. Why I applied to that particular university? It is a long story: I’ll try to make it sure. It was summer last year, and I fell in love with this particular girl that used to sell vegetables in our local open market. Well we talked a lot, but finally she went back to her country. The only possibility I saw at that time to see her again was to continue my studies there.

But all this is 8 months ago. So many things happened and I almost forgot about that particular girl. But the chance of going to another country still wakens an adventure spirit I never thought I had in me. I would accept it right away, but the problem is: the university offers such weirds scholarships. The money seems ok, but there is a whole list of strange courses I have to take. And then this condition of going every week to a local marketplace on the Internet to fill surveys and write short essays. I don’t know what I should think of it. Maybe I am not such an adventurer as I thought.

Phlebotomy Training Tardies

Monday, October 10th, 2011

One thing Phlebotomy Training schools don’t mess around with is tardiness. If you are the kind of person that has trouble arriving to class on-time, you need to find a way to resolve your issue. You may have been able to get away with it in high school, but most classes are required by law to record your tardiness and deny you credit after a certain amount in order to meet state regulations. This is often out of your teachers control, and any abuse of this is often frowned upon. Schools and teacher can lose their credentials for letting this rule slip, so don’t take any chances. The key thing to prevent you from being tardy is to make sure you can accommodate your schedule. Most people take on schedules that are too close for comfort especially when it comes to jobs and other obligations. Also, give yourself plenty of time for anything that could delay you from getting to class on time.

Things Got Better After I Went to a Pharmacy Technician School

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

I made a decision to attend a pharmacy technician school after I had a not-so-pleasant encounter with a fellow employee at a pharmacy that I used to work at. The employee one day decided to make my life rough, all because he believed he was a better person with the certificate of completion that he had from a pharmacy technician school. Our disagreement got to the pharmacy’s management and I was sacked as a result. I felt deflated for one whole week. When I had got over the stress, I decided to summon all my savings so that I could goo to school too. It wasn’t a difficult task because I managed to get a school that offered distance learning via the Internet. I did enrol and got some enlightening material afterwards. As I was nearing completion of the school’s curriculum, I looked back and saw how my fellow employee helped me indirectly. I now work at better paying place.
