PARTY CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE DAN FRANK PARTICIPATED IN WGAL-TV
ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION
INCUMBENT
PITTS ABSENT FROM DISCUSSION
Congressional
Candidate Dan Frank participated in the WGAL-TV Round Table
Discussion on Tuesday, September 23 at the Gap Diner with Independent
Candidate John Murphy and Democrat Candidate Bruce Slater. Congressman
Joe Pitts confirmed he would not attend a day or so before the
scheduled event. “First and foremost I want thank WGAL-TV and
their staff for not only having this event, but inviting all
the candidates.” Frank continued, “Ann Shannon was very fair,
professional and asked the tough questions that are on everyone’s
mind these days.” Frank hit on the economy and jobs right from
the start, “I have been saying the economy and jobs were a major
issue for quite some time now, and I told WGAL this is my top
priority and in fact was the reason I got involved in this race.”
Frank
emphasized that the issues all Americans are facing are neither
left or right, but American issues that are a result of Republican
and Democrat dominate control and dismal policies. “The situation
we find ourselves in is getting worse each year, Republicans
had complete control from 2000 through 2006 and the Democrats
have had control of Congress the last two years, the pendulum
swings back and forth while middle class America continues to
shrink year after year, the government deficit continues to
new heights, lost liberties and our jobs being outsourced. Now
with the Wall Street disaster upon us, the Republicans are suddenly
conservative and the Democrats are suddenly concerned about
the middle class, my how the tone changes during an election
season,” lamented Frank.
“I’m
hoping we wait for John McCain to propose a plan the entire
Republican caucus can get behind,” Rep. Joe Pitts (R-PA) told
CQ Politics. Regarding Mr. Pitts and this bailout, Frank states,
“I can see why Mr. Pitts supports a bailout, having raised $500,000
from special interest to keep his house seat; he is clearly
in their pockets,” Frank concluded, “This bailout is insane
and must be stopped.” Unlike Mr. Pitts, Frank is not beholden
to special interest, not the Republican Party, not the Democrat
Party, not Wall Street, and promises if elected, to represent
all American people and more specifically the people in the
16th District of Pennsylvania.
